Hamilton Island Enterprises Pty Ltd made the decision to introduce a second real estate agency to the island to give both owners and buyers a choice in the Hamilton Island property market. Great Barrier Reef Property Sales commenced trading in March 2007 and was re-named Hamilton Island Property Sales in August 2009.
The office is managed by licensed agent Andy Camm, who was born and bred in the Whitsundays, and has 15 years of experience in the local property market, commencing his employment with an agency in Airlie Beach in June 1994. The office now has four members, all with varying real estate experience.
In its first year of trading the office sold in excess of $51,000,000 worth of property, was responsible for 10 record sale prices, sold property within 5% of the original listed prices and averaged 40 days on the market for listed properties. This alone was quite an achievement, considering prior to this a majority of property listed for sale on Hamilton Island took up to six months or longer to sell.
